Our client's Philadelphia team is growing! The Construction Manager will manage construction project tasks on a groundbreaking new Philadelphia-based infrastructure project (including marine + landside aspects). You will have daily communication with clients and contractors, and coordinate resources for the completion of assigned tasks, providing project reports as necessary. How will you contribute to the team?  

  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. 

  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems. 

  • Assist with project delivery strategies. 

  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budgets time required to meet deadlines. 

  • Coordinate the project procurement, selection of contractors and assist with contract paperwork and management of changes. 

  • Coordinate QA/QC quality control plans. 

  • Coordinate safety management plans. 

  • Coordinate the building permit process and compliance with codes. 

  • Direct weekly construction meetings. 

  • Prepare daily / weekly / monthly progress reports. 

  • Review contractor applications for payment and recommend payment to client. 

  • Create and monitor cost reports for the client. 

  • Coordinate punch list preparation and project close-out.

What will you contribute?  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus 8+ years relevant experience. (Candidates with 12+ years of relevant commercial construction experience that are highly qualified in other aspects but do not have a college degree may be considered.)

  • Local Philly / East Coast construction experience strongly preferred.

  • Marine infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, and/or mega project familiarity desirable.

  • Korean project experience noted as a plus (language not required but would make an exceptional candidate).

  • Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilities. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills. 

  • Must have ability to navigate Web-based construction management software (often provided by the client). Must have experience with setting meetings, organizing agendas, and keeping minutes for projects records. 

  • Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite P6 and Construction PMIS software.

  • Must have OSHA 10 Construction Training and hold or be able to obtain an OSHA 30 training prior to employment (OSHA 30 Maritime would make exceptional candidate)
