Description
The Hotel Stores Manager oversees the entire onboard hotel stores operation and the Onboard Provisions team. Inventory & Supply Chain Management
Procurement: Collaborates with Department Heads to produce accurate order requests for the Corporate Purchasing Department. ; Distribution: Oversees daily internal distribution, strictly enforcing First In, First Out (FIFO) protocols. ; Variance Control: Proactively communicates inventory shortages or excesses to Department Heads, ensuring no negative impact on guest satisfaction or operational budgets. ; Discrepancy Resolution: Manages pier-side and onboard storing operations; addresses quality or quantity variations directly with suppliers or corporate procurement. ;
Compliance & Safety
Public Health: Enforces strict USPH and HACCP standards, including temperature logging, store organization, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). ; Sanitation: Maintains "inspection-ready" cleanliness levels across all storage areas. ; Waste Management: Monitors costs and quality while actively striving to reduce breakage and wastage; supervises proper garbage disposal procedures. ; Auditing: Executes physical inventories and spot checks in coordination with the Financial Officer according to the established schedule. Liaises with the Accounts Payable department for any inquiries concerning discrepancies. ;
Maintenance & Operations
Equipment Oversight: Operates and maintains specialized storing machinery; logs maintenance requests for non-functional equipment and tracks repairs to completion. ;
People Management
Leadership: Models the "Gold Standards" of the brand, holding the team accountable for professional behavior and fair treatment. ; Communication: Leads daily "Line-ups" to ensure alignment with Brand Guidelines and daily goals. ; Development: Coaches the team by providing constructive feedback, identifying developmental needs, and fostering an inclusive environment. ; Qualifications
Technical Skills
Certification: Valid STCW and appropriate Flag Certification for the duration of the contract. ; Public Health: Expert knowledge of USPH and HACCP regulations. ; Domain Expertise: Superior knowledge of storeroom operations, specifically the handling of perishable goods, F&B, consumables, and durables. ; Systems: "Power User" proficiency in inventory/property management systems. MXP experience is highly desirable; advanced proficiency in MS Office is required. ;
Physical Requirements
Agility: Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and utilize sensory perceptions (taste/smell) for quality control. ; Strength: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. ; Emergency Response: Must be physically capable of participating in emergency drills, including the manual operation of lifeboats. ;
Communication
Language: Professional fluency in English (verbal and written). ; Interpersonal: Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from guests, leadership, and crew. ;
