Position Overview: The Owen School at Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a K-8 Physical Education Teacher to reinforce learning in accordance with the organization’s Mission Statement and Core Values. What You Will Do: - Plan instructional tasks that are meaningful and related to learning goals.
- Communicate a high-level of expectation and clear learning goals to students.
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Conduct ongoing assessments for learning.
- Display enjoyment, humor, and enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning.
- Establish appropriate classroom rules and procedures that are clearly understood by all students.
- Participate in professional growth opportunities and demonstrate professionalism.
- Follow Agency and School policies and procedures.
- Support Agency goals.
- Report student progress through initial, quarterly, annual, and discharge reports in accordance with accreditation, licensing, and Agency standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in physical education or a closely related field preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
Licensure:
- South Dakota State Certified Educator Preferred
- Ability to Obtain South Dakota Alternative Educator Certification Required
