Title: Procedure Room Medical Assistant 

Supervised by: Dr. Aldon B. Williams, MD and Nurse Practitioner

Description:

Interventional Pain Management practice seeking a medical assistant with a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience. This individual needs to possess strong skills in the areas of responsibilities as outlined and have an approachable, friendly, and people-oriented disposition with a high degree of professionalism. 

Responsibilities:

• The medical assistant will work in the procedure room with the physician, nurse anesthetist and other medical assistant to assist with patient prep and transport to recovery, handing medicines, operating the C-Arm, fluoroscopy machine, radio frequency machine and ultrasound.
• Undergo training to learn and be able to work in Practice’s electronic medical records system, (eMD) including, but not limited to, entering procedure room notes and follow up notes.
• Undergo training to learn and be able to operate the HOCATT and HUGO.
• Order medications and supplies.
• Assist with patient recovery when needed.
• Help to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of the procedure room, storage room and laundry.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of high school diploma with some college or post-secondary education preferred.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be willing to learn eMD—electronic medical record technology.
• Possess some knowledge of medication used in pain management procedures.
• Possess strong computer skills.
• Familiarity with ordering medical supplies.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
• This position will have extensive patient and visitor contact and must be customer oriented.
• Possess a willingness to participate in continuing education and training.
• Individual should be a team player who works well with others.
• Must be able to work under pressure with professionalism.
• Possess good listening skills.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Bilingual is helpful but not required.

Other:

• The procedure room medical assistant position is a full-time position.
• Work will be performed in two locations:
  • Boerne Office (916 River Road)
  • San Antonio Office (4242 Woodcock Drive, Suite 100
• Pay: Pay range is between $15-$20/ hour, depending on experience.
